The third annual Olympia Old Time Music Festival takes place February 17th through the 20th.  I haven't been before, but I will be attending this year and teaching a beginners finger-picking guitar workshop.

Looks like a good time (I'm on the wrong side of the continent). Worth pointing out that there's also what looks at first glance like a pretty good oldtime lyrics songbook in PDF format on their site at http://olyoldtime.org/songbook.pdf

On the website it says "enjoy a long weekend of jamming, dancing, learning, and breaking rule #1 1930's style ..."

At the risk of having a "duh" moment, what is Rule #1?

Rule #1 eh ???  Should we be taking that into consideration for our Euroweenie extravaganza?
(That's enough of that. Ed)

It could be this one I guess, it might fit:

Rule #1: Don't lose money

Warren Buffett, investment strategy rules

I actually saw that on the website and wondered the same thing.  hmm

I wrote them and got this answer:

----------

It is a joke.  Rule number 1 is "No fun allowed."   It is poking fun at certain typed of people who either don't like to have fun or don't want you to have fun.

-----------

I guess they're trying to give the same idea as H.L. Mencken's definition of Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.
