Here's an attempt at Allen Shaw's Moanin' the Blues (video cuts out a bit early):

Everybody singin' like somebody else's body. And that's pretty spooky if you think about it. I like the shows where the guy... he's like 18 years and white and he's comin' up on stage before a 90 years old bluesman [pantomimes lurching onto stage, plays really old sounding blues, wails incomprehensibly]... And then the 90 years old bluesman comes on and says, 'OK man, whassup?' Everythin's gotten like kinda spaced if you think about it... - Jerry Ricks, Port Townsend 97

All best, Johnm ...that's your new Fraulini, isn't it? It doesn't sound green at all, sounds like it's been around awhile already. Congratulations! Thanks, John. Yes, that's the Fraulini. It's a great joy to play -- very inspiring. My goal these days is to get closer to the sound & subleties of the original recordings (inspired in no small part by your GW videos (!)) and the Fraulini is a big help. Or at least it gives me a better shot at it. best- Peter I too liked it very much! You have a very pleasent singing voice. And congrats on the Fraulini, it sounds really good too.
