I'm guessing that's a big ol' Kay. First I thought it might be a J200 but the upper bout shape is different as is the bridge and inlay design. Makes Jimi sound positively down home!

Elijah Wald just turned me on to Karen Dalton at PT this summer. And I just finally thought about youtubing her name! Absolutely beautiful stuff!!
[Edit]: While I'm thinkin' 'bout bluesy female vocalists that should be WAY more famous than they are/were... Just found some ol' Barbara Dane (via Hitchcock):
You don't know whether to cut their throat or to cry again. That's the blues! (spells) B L U S E ! - Son House
Killer clip. Bloomfield is too much, like when he outs himself for being a rich kid? And the young Butterfield. I'd never seen any of Son's interview, either. The whole thing really gives a feeling of that era. Seeing footage of the early Canned Heat, with Wilson, also makes that connection for me.
All for now. John C.

Where'd it all go? I think this is from the movie "Festival" which I've never seen, and I think it documents Newport 65? The same year of Bob's electrical metamorphosis. The truth is that to a large degree his commercial success really did signal the death of that scene, and except for him, what replaced it was mostly less interesting imo.
