I passionately hate the idea of being with it; I think an artist has always to be out of step with his time - Orson Welles, 19151985

The Todalo Shakers Concert in Bellingham
« on: March 06, 2010, 12:15:23 PM »
======================================================================
Tuesday, March 16th
The Todalo Shakers complete their first ever northwest tour with a concert at the Roeder Home in Bellingham, Washington.  This highly respected but seldom seen band specializes in the party music of the 1920s, especially jug band, blues, and rags and have played most often at Berkeley's Freight and Salvage.  Eric & Suzy Thompson, Frannie Leopold, and WB Reid have been Todalo Shaking since their first CD came out in 1999, and they're gathering in Seattle to make a new recording.  This concert will feature many brand new songs for the project.   Fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo-guitar, and bowed bass, and everyone sings.
7:30 pm, $8-$12 sliding scale, Roeder Home, 2600 Sunset Drive, Bellingham.
See http://www.friendsoftheroederhome.org/ for all the info
