The Todalo Shakers House Concert in Seattle
« on: March 06, 2010, 12:09:20 PM »
======================================================================
Thursday, March 11th
The Todalo Shakers make their first ever northwest appearance at a house concert at Bruce & Bonnie's near Columbia City.  This highly respected but seldom seen band specializes in the party music of the 1920s, especially jug band, blues, and rags and have played most often at Berkeley's Freight and Salvage.  Eric & Suzy Thompson, Frannie Leopold, and WB Reid have been Todalo Shaking since their first CD came out in 1999, and they're gathering in Seattle to make a new recording.  This concert will feature many brand new songs for the project, and we're pleased to have Matt Weiner (of the Yes Yes Boys and the Blue-4 Trio) on bass for this event.  Fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo-guitar, and bowed bass, and everyone sings.  It's even possible that blues dancing will break out.
7:30 pm, $12 suggested donation, kids half.  For reservations,directions, and more info, reply to this e-mail or contact us@wbandbonnie.com or 206-723-7684.  And see (and hear) http://ericandsuzy.com/todalo.htm
