'Race' records of the 1920's revealed only too obviously that the chastity projected by spirituals or groups like the Fisk Jubilee Singers did not truly reflect black social values, any more than Pat Boone represents the typical American male - Steve Calt's notes, Bo Carter, Banana In Your Fruit Basket, Yazoo

INTRO

Having so much bad luck and trouble, ‘til it ‘bout to carry me down
Having so much bad luck and trouble, ‘til it ‘bout to carry me down
‘F I don’t find my baby, gonna make me lose my mind

Came in this mornin’, just about the break of day
Yes, I came in this mornin’, just about the break of day
I didn’t see my baby nowhere, wonder where she gone away to stay (Spoken: Well alright man)

PIANO/GUITAR SOLO (Spoken: That’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout, don’t pay no attention to these women, stand up for your right, they don’t mean you no good nohow)

Bye-bye baby, if we never meet again
Bye-bye baby, if we never meet again
It’s not my fault, baby, done all in the world I can

Thanks for posting that, Blues Vintage. I had never heard or heard of Little Son Willis before. I'm hearing a couple of places differently, see what you think.

In 2.3, I didn't see my baby nowhere, wonder where she gone away to stay (He sticks the first syllable of "away" on "gone".)
In the spoken comment during the solo, I think the last sentence is, "THEY don't mean you no good nohow.

I think he sings 'carry me down' instead of tearing me down

Thanks John and Thomas. I made the changes.
I wasn't sure about "tearing" from the beginning.
