God, was Otis Rush great. An amazing guitarist and possibly an even better singer. I only got to see him perform once or twice and felt like he was a musician, rather than an entertainer, which I certainly didn't object to, since I came to hear music. He was just taking care of business, which was fine with me. I have to admit I didn't know he was still alive, and thought he had passed a while ago, but I guess he had been incapacitated for some time. I hope he is peaceful now.

Jeezus. Clapton and Page mentioned in the first paragraph. SMH... too sad.

I kick myself for missing some of the guys who are gone now. But I saw Otis Rush in Denver (30+ years ago?) and he was great. RIP.

Also, what Rivers said. Why on earth does an artist like Otis Rush need to be validated other than on his own terms?

One of the best ever. Man, could he make that Epiphone Riviera wail.

Otis Rush was a genius. For anyone new to this the Cobra recordings are the best of the best.
