I saw a whole tree just disappear, sucked under by the current, then saw it shoot up, it must have been a hundred yards away. Looked like a missile fired by a submarine - J.M. Barry, levee worker's account from Rising Tide The Great Mississippi Flood Of 1927

Does anyone know what tuning Josh White uses for "In My Time of Dying"?

Thanks.

This is presumably the same song as Jesus Gonna Make Up My Dying Bed, which is played in Vestapol tuning, tuned down low to around C.

This song has mesmerized me since the first time I heard it.  I particularly like his 1940 recording of it, on a Folkways CD, "Free and Equal Blues".  It is indeed played in Vestapol, tuned down to around "C".

If you are working it out, would you please write it down, in TAB/Music, and make it available to the rest of us.  TablEdit is a great way to exchange music.  If you need help with tablEdit, let me know.

Thanx,
Easy Rider
