In a blog essay posted on the Web site of The American Scholar before Mr. Mitchell's death, Mr. Zinsser said Mr. Mitchell's approach to broken-down pianos (which musicians sometimes encounter on tour) illustrated his approach to life. "I learned long ago that it does no good to complain," Mr. Zinsser recalled Mr. Mitchell telling him. Instead, listen to the keys and put their flatness or sharpness to use. "You say, 'What does it do?' " said Mr. Mitchell, sounding an imaginary clinker on a piano. " 'Will it do anything? Let's check it out' - NY Times obit, reference to http://theamericanscholar.org/what-does-it-do/#.Uj3ivWR4ZEu

I have to ask, this has been puzzling long time now. I have seen the reference "In G, played in E Position" and similar.

Break it down for me please, it would be a big help for some "hints" and such I have.

In G=
In E position+=

I'm sure its so simple but hey I gotta know....Thank you much!!

Capo on the third fret. Play all the usual "E' position chords. Good luck. :)

Same tune, different words, different guitars. This is a 1953 Gibson L-50 (archtop) . Best neck of any of my guitars by a long shot.
A friend of mine who puts out world music records was warning me against putting possibly copywriten material on any CD I was thinking of doing without making the proper legal arrangements but suggested that if I altered the words and title enough it might not be an issue. Hence Dogfish Blues, which does have some autobiographical material that I like.

Thanks for everyones good words btw.
