Enjoyable as always, Nate. Nice and trancey. Sure wish there were more recordings of Jim Jackson doing old stuff like this, rather than 15 versions of Kansas City.

Thanks UB and hI couldn't agree with you more. "Kansas City" is an ok song but not nearly as cool as "Old Dog Blue". Along the same lines, I wish Bo Carter had focused a bit more on backwoodsy material  similar to "Turnip Greens" instead of the double-entendre hokum and quasi-pop blues material. I guess both wanted to be commercially successful and let the sales numbers determine the the kind of material they recorded.

Yeah, I like Kansas City fine, just don't need 20 versions of it.  :P Given the pre-blues component of Jackson's repertoire, it would be great to have more stuff like it.
