There's a guy named Ed Ivy here in the Bay area who often plays a sousaphone in his various blues bands, when he's not playing trumpet, bass or guitar that is. It's really a riot to see him leading a jam, flashing hand signs for the chords or signaling stop time or who gets the next solo or whatever, while looking just like he did in his high school band in El Paso, Texas, before he moved to the Bay area to play Punk in the '80s.
Anyway, I moved all your youTube postings over here to the Performance Corner as we try to use the Back Porch for works in progress and beginners looking for advice about their playing and the like. Pros strutting their stuff and looking for kudos, not to mention adding to their hits, get the spotlight over here. Keep on playing that CB inspired R&R. No telling how many folks will follow the trail back and discover the roots. All for now. John C. dj
Quote Makes me really wish Slackabilly had a tuba or sousaphone! Is there anything that says "high-class, world-ruling music" more than a rockabilly tuba? Quote Is there anything that says "high-class, world-ruling music" more than a rockabilly tuba? No! Nothing, I agree! galcsababoogie
