First, welcome to Weenie Campbell. Please take a while to look around the site to get acquainted.

For your question, check out http://delreyplays.com/women-in-american-music/. It does *not* specifically have what you want, but it's a good step in that direction. (As well as to learning more about Memphis Minnie, if you're not already well-acquainted with her playing.)

Also, here's some advice on figuring out Sister Tharpe's music on your own:

Thanks so much for your reply, Lindy. I have been a lurker here for a while and LOVE the site.

I am familiar with this great Del Rey resource - I am actually writing a dissertation on the playing style of Memphis Minnie and Rosetta Tharpe :) I have done quite a large number of my own transcriptions of both SRT and MM and am also analyzing Maybelle Carter's playing style. What I have found is that there are quite a few available transcriptions of Minnie and Carter's music (relatively speaking) but almost NO guitar transcriptions of SRT songs, even on the usual tab sites. I have done quite a bit of digging, but just want to make sure I am not missing any glaring resources !

Again, thanks for your reply :)

Thanks for filling in the gaps about what you're doing, gg. I (naturally) reacted to your post thinking you were a player looking for help with song performance, but you're obviously working on a very different level.

Glad to hear that your university is supporting research on the three women you mention! Please be sure to share what you find with us.

Hey Lindy,

Try getting touch with Abie Budgen, search engine away......unless you are Abie of course.

Abie is the best I've seen with the Tharpe style. Del Rey and I did a show with her in the UK, she's great.

gtrgrrl is the one doing the research, Adam, but thanks for the tip! I'm sure she'll follow up on it.

I love that video. And I have that LP ! Time to dig it out.
Del Rey is a national treasure (ok, I'm not American, but whatever).

You're welcome gtr. PM me if you can't find Abie's contact. Del Rey (www.delreyplays.com) is also a good contact for you. Del doesn't work with transcriptions, her knowledge on the subject is unsurpassed though.

Best wishes with your project, sounds great.
