Mamie Minch, Mr O'muck and the Little Brothers at Jalopy, 6-Feb

Mark your calendars!

Mr. O'muck and the Academy of Ancient Blues
Mamie Minch
The Little Brothers

Mr O'muck and the Academy of Ancient Blues - O'muck is a former student of Reverend Gary Davis, veteran performer of Country Blues, a peerless guitarist and singer and once helped Albert King fix his tour bus.  The Academy of Ancient Blues is a free floating bunch of crack hands who show up in any configuration and do the gig.  This evening, the Academy will feature the talents of Mighty Joe Bellulovich on harmonica and guitar.  Other Academy members are sure to appear as well.

Mamie Minch - a bonafide long, tall mama...  a honey voiced, guitar wielding siren of the blues.  Brooklynite Mamie Minch sounds something like a voluptuously fleshed out 78 record. She marries Son House-like wailing with Reverend Gary Davis' piedmont style picking on her 1937 National resonator.

The Little Brothers - Kim Basile, Mike Hoffmann and Frankie Basile - got all you need...  just set down, hit it and go.  Razor fiddle and shimmering mandolin anchored by powerful guitar - featuring the vocals of Kim and Frank Basile.

Details as I get 'em!

Somebody needs to move the Jalopy to a small town on the south coast of England (where I just happen to live).

This is too cruel! It's like the sweets on the top shelf, you can see they are there, but you can't get to them.

PP, thought you said I could borrow yours?

As for the L.Brothers, if they can go to Romania, they can surely make over here.

Somebody needs to move the Jalopy to a small town on the south coast of England (where I just happen to live).

Or Austin Texas. But that's even more far fetched. I's seriously considering getting on a plane. Ooops, checked the calendar, missed it.
