I saw Johnny Shines with Robert Lockwood in London many years ago - a two night stint. At the end of the second night, some fool in the audience shouts, "Johnny Shines, you are a sexist!" Shines says, "What?" Guy repeats it. Shines says, "Texas? I don't know nothing about Texas." Collapse of interlocutor - Johnny Shines, by Chris Smith on prewarblues list, Bunker Hill, also present, dates it Sunday 28th October 1979
Does that link still work for anyone? I tried it before the holidays and got a playback error, then tried it again today and got an error that the show is "unavailable at this time." It sounded cool so I'm sad if I missed it.
Damn they've removed it. I wish I'd downloaded it now.
I didn't think you could download the BBC "Hear it again" type content, only listen to it. What do you know that I don't, Alan? (A lot, I realise, but I mean in this particular context.)

You are absolutely correct, I've just tried an unrelated "hear it again" and no such method that I can fathom. Shame they don't keep them available for longer periods.
A bit Heath-Robinson, but I have heard of people disconnecting their speakers and running the signal into a tape recorder. Too much trouble, if you ask me.
