Arthur Petties, Freddie Spruell, Romeo Nelson, Doug Suggs -- these are only a few of the blues singers known on record and in discographies to blues enthusiasts, whose rediscovery has not been followed by recording sessions, for they have forgotten all they knew, and hear with disbelief the records they made as young men. - "The Future of the Blues", Blues Off the Record, Paul Oliver

Another show for blues fans in the area.

Paul Rishell & Annie Raines @ the Good Coffeehouse in Brooklyn

from a post elsewhere:

Nov 13th, Paul Rishell & Annie Raines - Country blues - Traveling Troubadour Concert Series (adults $15, kids $6)
"W.C. Handy award-winners Rishell & Raines (paulandannie.com) are rousing interpreters of country blues, the original acoustic style that gave birth to electric blues, R&B and rock. While their guitar, harmonica and vocals are roiling, muscular and masterful, their shows are down-home-friendly and fun-loving."-Boston Globe. "There must be some physical explanation for the sheer joy they bring to the blues...lots of heat but also plenty of subtle variation under the theme."-Atlantic Monthly

Thanks CF, but I'd hate for anyone's livelihood to depend on me! I hardly ever remember to post such events.

Good to see some other folks post some shows as well. Even though we're spread out around the world and can't necessarily attend, someone who sees it probably can, and maybe it generates a little more enthusiasm everywhere for hosting these events, attending them, organizing them, playing them. Keep posting 'em.
