I ask that pawn shop man, "What's them three balls doin' hangin' on that wall?" (He) said, "It's two to one daddy, you don't get your things back out of here at all" - Blind Boy Fuller, Three Ball Blues
Hi all, This is from the Arhoolie CD, "Goin' Back To Crawford" and it features Amelia Johnson on vocal, and Big Joe Williams and John "Mister Short Stuff" Macon on guitars. I think Amelia Johnson sings three numbers on the CD and they're all great.
Its original title is "Rainbow at Midnight". A YouTube comment says (I am not making this up): "Lost John Miller, a World War II veteran, has always received credit for this song. The song describes the ocean and starlit night sky he viewed while returning home on a troopship."
Hi (Found) John Miller, Your "cousin", Lost John Miller, was a very well regarded radio entertainer in North Carolina and East Tennessee. He had the good sense to hire Earl Scruggs and get Earl out of the NC cotton mills and into professional music. Lots to thank the (Lost and Found) Millers for, no? best, bruce
Hi Bruce, If Lost John Miller got Earl Scruggs out of the cotton mills and performing in public, we really do have a lot to thank him for, as well as that beautiful song! All best, Johnm

A rare clip of JB Lenore, playing "Alabama Blues". Footage dates from 1965 when he participated to the AFBF. Non of the official AFBF dvd's has this though.
Hi all, I just found this performance footage of Willie Trice on youtube, just put up two weeks ago, with only twelve viewings thus far. I didn't know there was any performance footage of him available, and was pretty excited to find it. Here he is doing "Poor Boy, Long Ways From Home":
You're both welcome - I found this researching from the MOtt Willis selection John Miller just posted in his Miller's Breakdown
Here's one of Lonzo Burkes selections - but youtube only had posted the track as it appeared another disc. I found the "Blues at home" series on Amazon Never heard of these bluesmen either and was surprised that they slipped through the cracks.

Hi all, I just found this footage of John Jackson. I sure love that move he does on "Cindy", starting around 1:11. Those of us who had the opportunity to spend time with him certainly were lucky.
