Fostex 260 which output to use?
« on: November 28, 2005, 03:53:34 AM »
I have been given a Fostex 260 multitracker which I want to use as a mixer feeding into an amp.
Amp has mono jack line input.
Which output from the Fostex should I use?
"stereo out" (stereo, 2 phonos) seems the obvious choice.
But is it ok to make a cable which simply wires the 2 stereo channels together to make mono?
Or might that damage the Fostex?
The other Fostex outputs are
"monmix" (stereo, 2 phonos)
"mon" (stereo, 2 phonos)
"aux send" (mono, 1 phono)
"phones" (1 jack, switchable stereo/mono)
Si  ( no electronics degree as you may have noticed :)
