I had a whole long thing typed up here, but I think a better post would have just been - does anyone  know much about the link between "Vestapol" and "Poor Boy's a Long Ways from Home?"

The original parlour tune in open D tuning was called "The Siege of Sebastapol" and this tuning was named after it. This tune bears no resemblance to to "Vastapol" and it's variants.
