Honky Tonks, Hymns and the Blues (http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/features/2003/honkytonks/)

Check out the audio streams -- I really liked parts 2 ("Country Guitar"), 5 ("The Rise of the Blues") & 6 ("Jimmie Rodgers").

Thanks for the "heads-up" - it looks like fascinating web site, and the programs will provide some interesting listening. The old radio ads can be quite entertaining!

Man, that looks so interesting I don't know where to start, maybe at the beginning. It would be great if they were available as podcasts then I could listen to them without being stuck in front of the computer.

Wonder if we can get any of those old radio ads onto the juke?
