Now in my efficiency I thought I should confirm the booking for this years Euroweenie extravaganza only to be told, shock, horror, probette that there was no room at the inn due to a cock up with their booking system
However, with my usual subtle tact I pointed out that had it been a wedding and we were all getting hitched I'm sure they could have sorted something out, not of course that I particularly wanted to see The Prof in his lace bridal outfit but, then again somebody might have
SO the dates have changed, actually for the better as it means the weather might be improved I have provisionally taken 10 rooms for nights of Friday 29 and Saturday 30 April 2016 to include the use of a friction function room while we are there for those incredible performances.
Room rates inc of VAT are - Single occupancy Bed and Breakfast ?85 Double occupancy Bed and Breakfast ?110
You must mention WEEKEND BLUES and the dates when you book to get the rates I have agreed.
I think that's it really, doubtless there will be queries over communal meals and all that - I would suggest may be we book that for the Saturday night and then at least the festivities will start on time-ish.
It would be helpful if you mention when you have booked so I can keep a vague tally of the rooms. Finally, a witer of a not too hard quiz is required as is somebody to clean up after the dancing girls.
Sorry to disappoint all my fans, but I won't be able to make it this year. Mrs Parlor Picker has been ill and I'd better stick around here. Somebody else had better take the photos this year.

Not booked, but will strain every sinew (apart from those in forearms and fingers, obviously) to make the trek up the M5 with a few old Nationals for the Saturday session.
Now boys time is going by and I need a few more takers for the rooms they are holding for me since they did go to the trouble of sorting out another date - what chance of biting the bullit and making that booking - please!
Thanks to Mike and Pete for booking in, although I really am very sorry to hear Phil cannot make it this year - it won't be the same with him - not only that but I'll have to do the bloody program myself!
I'm booked but won't arrive until Saturday afternoon due to a gig on Friday night. I'll be bringing my girlfriend, Lorna, who sings the blues and has a particular liking for Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie and Bertha Chippie Hill stuff.
Looks like you've got a "quorum" now, which is good news. Sorry to be missing the fun. Mrs PP is doing well and nearing the end of her treatment. Thanks for all the kind comments, which have been duly passed on.

Thanks gent's it's beginning to really take shape, if my maths are correct that's 8 out of 10 rooms - is there anybody else we can persuade to come along and enjoy the fun? Meantime I'll take a look at previous attendee's and see if we can rattle a chain or two
Hopefully PP and Phil will be able to partake next year - of course PP could still do the quiz.. and Phil the program if he felt so inclined! Who's got the brick, shall I find a lump of Bath stone instead?
Slim, good news I was almost reduced to doing one myself, I did do them in the early years and rather exhausted my limited suppy of questions!
Now have we anybody who is willing to do a workshop or talk or something.... perchance the Prof may have disected another famous names's musical style he could teach?
And while I'm here, are there any more takers out there for a room, I think we have two left of the quota.
Can't think of a workshop topic off hand. If anyone has particular wishes I might be able to cobble something together. Let me know. Otherwise we might have to make do with more general playing time, which would be good too.
I dont have the encyclopaedic knowledge of most of the Weenie folk so couldnt do anything historic , factual, player styles etc. Im not sure if this would "fit" with Weenie style but I have learned / discovered some generic guitar playing stuff over the years that I drop into tunes I do, like my box of playing tricks that I'd be happy to share for example, the range of 12 bar turnarounds? But you may already know them...? Anyhow I could pull together a shortish (15 - 20 minute?) session on that if people would find it useful? Let me know. Mike
Sounds good (metaphorically) to me Mike, please do it. I must confess my immediate thought was of the Professor, soley because he is the Professor and has always seemed to be able to effortlessly pull a dissection of some famous players style out of the bag.
Now I have had another (polite) suggestion passed to me and I'll work on that for the big event!
It doesn't look as though we are going to fill the last two rooms at the hotel, so be fair to them as they do seem to get busy I thought maybe in a few days unless somebody else wishes to join us I would let them know they are not required - any thoughts?
Just checking we are all set and raring to go - I have booked us in for a communal meal on the Saturday night and they have confirmed we do have a function room.
There is still time to come up with a musical gem to fill a short spot on the Staurday if anyone is feeling in the mood... I must go and cobble up a timetable and also find a lump of Bath stone
Okeh men, I have attached the timetable which you can download and\or print - any suggestione etc etc etc let me know since it is certainly not set in stone.
I have had the "aural guess the player" quiz epic roadtested and been told it's not as bad as I feared, maybe I'll post it here after the weekends fun and then others can give it a try
I have to say it won't be the quite same without PP or Phil in attendence.
Just thought since my faithful reporter PP was absent this year, I ought to cobble up a few lines to say that despite the absences of Blueshome, PP and Prof Scratchy I thought the event went very well.
The hotel or should I say spa and country club, no I won't, the hotel was very busy since there was also wedding going. Worse, a coach load of unhappy befuddled grannies were aimlessly wandering around having been dumped there by the National Trust ? whether they were exhibits we will never be sure, but we suspect that was the case.
However, of more interest our numbers were bolstered to I think nine, on the Saturday by the appearance of Stuart alias Marshcat and his friend, sorry I'd better rephrase that, his musical associate Gareth plus Bob(a)Long?s singing lady friend Laurna (hope I got that right, I'm crap at names). All told fun was had by all, with the hotel being so busy we were allocated the library as our playroom, which by sheer coincidence contained a copy of Cluedo ? so for those that didn't quite work it out, it was the granny in the library by the musician with the zimmerframe.
Musically, all very good with talk's by Mike S, Graham T and Bob's expose on Tommy Johnson's drinking habits. Simon produced not only a rabbit from his Stella, but a very workmanlike quiz of which I am proud to say for once I didn't come last! My aural quiz, which for some reason necessitated constantly pointing those who looked disappointed towards the correct spelling was to my mind a success, but then I knew the answers?
We had the usual draw to form trios and then perform followed by the more timid members of the collective playing with each other at random. I think one of the finer sights of the event was that of Andrew appearing in his football outfit on the Saturday morning after he'd been playing with the under tens. Coughs.
That's about it really, I've had enough except to say thank you all for coming and for Gareth for being brave enough to join us weenies, unfortunately he seems to have the same sense of humour as me. I am grateful for Stuart for bringing a brace of cameras and hope he might post a few pics ? and for all those who have helped out in some way.
Apart from the fact the food was pretty rubbishy this time (but they didn't charge us hehehe) I am going to re-book for 2017 as it's the only half-decent place that will take us AND I hope we will be joined by those who were absent from this years epic.
Thanks to all and do feel free to add your version of events fantasy or otherwise. R

Missed you all, but consoled myself with the fact that driving all the way to Somerset on a Bank Holiday weekend would not have been fun. Also consoled myself by ordering an Alvarez Grateful Dead 50-year Anniversary guitar (chew on that all you fans of ladder-braced, birchwood monstrosities - he said provocatively, but doesn't mean it really )! The move was tempted by a visit to a friend who already has one and you'll be pleased to hear my trial of the instrument featured me playing my lame versions of pieces by the likes of John Hurt, Rev. Davis, etc., so I didn't really let the (Weenie) side down.
Hopefully next year!

Thanks Richard for organising once more. I got the idea eventually on the food; order from the bar menu and keep it simple !
Thanks to Bob and Graham also for the time and effort put into their presentations (maybe I should make the effort next year) they certainly raised the bar with materials, recordings, lyrics etc. Be warned those who didn't attend.
thanks also for the quiz's also hard but enjoyable.
To those who couldn't attend you were missed hope to see you next year
A severely censored photographic record of the highlights of the event is now available in the "Photo Gallery" section of the site, so that participants can reminisce in their (rapidly approaching) dotage and non-participants can thank their lucky stars they were spared.
Thanks for the pics I have added the odd discreet comment
I meant to say that when I try and rebook for 2017 I will try and avoid the bank holiday weekend, it was just that this year after their cock up the dates it was the only weekend available.
