Look vs Lookin' is hard to hear. I'm pretty sure he's really singing "the" real fast there.

Hi all,
Larry Johnson recorded "Lordy Good Lord" for his Blues Goose album, "Fast and Funky", accompanying himself out of D in standard tuning. The song is a real rarity--an East Coast one-chord blues. As Larry hit his stride over the course of the rendition, he pared the guitar part back to its essence, an hypnotic repeating figure or ostinato. Speaking only for myself, this is one instance where the more repetitious it becomes the more I find myself drawn in. Here is "Lordy Good Lord": INTRO Lay down last night, rollin' from side to side Laid down last night, rollin' from side to side Was not sick, but sure dissatisfied Was not sick, but sure dissatisfied Ever love someone you know that don't love you? Ever love someone you know that don't love you? I tried and tried and still I don't know what to do I've tried and tried and still I don't know what to do REFRAIN: Lordy Good Lord, Lordy Good Lord Lordy Good Lord, Lordy Good Lord Now tell me, baby, where did I go wrong Tell me, baby, where did I go wrong REFRAIN: Lordy Good Lord, Lord, oh (falsetto) Lordy Good Lord Now you know I love you, love you to your bone Knowed I love you, love you to your bone Ah (falsetto) Now tell me, baby, how long you gon' do me wrong Please tell me, baby, how long you gon' do me wrong REFRAIN: Lordy Good Lord, ah (falsetto) Just as long as you keep your fine self gone As long as you keep your fine self gone REFRAIN: Lordy Good Lord Now goodbye, people, I must say "So long".
