I've been working on this tune for over a decade. Drop G tuning, a rare Tommy Johnson test recording.

If you want to learn how to make songs yourself, you take your guitar and you go to where the road crosses that way, where a crossroads is. Get there, be sure to get there just a little 'fore 12 that night so you know you'll be there. You have your guitar and be playing a piece there by yourself... A big black man will walk up there and take your guitar and he'll tune it. And then he'll play a piece and hand it back to you. That's the way I learned to play anything I want - Tommy Johnson, to his brother

Sweet. Sounds like time well spent, and a wonderful vocal.
My favourite bit is still the little smile at 13s though CF
Thank you! I make too many faces when I play music, I've been trying to look cool and detached but it just doesn't happen
And Tommy's music makes me smile! I've been somewhat protective of showing just what I'm doing on this tune but I've recently returned to playing in public after a brief break and I want to share some of the rarer tunes I perform. I do a set of Tommy's Paramounts and I never see/hear anyone tackling these tunes so I figured I better get them out there before others beat me to the punch! CF
Thank you Chris & Harriet . . . it's a pleasure to share this tune with people who have heard the original!
Great job, Mike!
Wonderful singing as always, and very solid guitar picking as well! Nice to hear you, after a while. Cheers, Pan CF
Thank You, Pan. About a year or two ago my middle finger woke up and started wanting to join in. I've been able to pick more guitar with the digit addition
