Blues fans are just thick. You can play them any old rubbish and they'll cheer. It doesn't matter how badly you play because blues fans, who are supposed to he so intelligent, will accept anything, however abysmal' - Chris Mercer, quoted by the mysterious Neville Wiggins, The History of Rock Volume 5 Issue 56 (Stepping Out), 1983, p.1101-1103

Paul "Sailor" Vernon book
« on: February 21, 2009, 03:37:38 PM »
One of the best books about blues I read in years.
I'm sure some of you British Weenies must have known his "Sailor's Delight" mag; well the book is just as hilarious  (mixed with some seriousness) and entertaining as his mags.
Very recommended.

"He now cooks a decent meal most nights and is currently writing ... 'The Inadvertent Cough on Record, 1899-1980: An Annotated Discography'."  :P
