Hoax or con. He gives it away by pretending to know nothing about the subject while dropping clues aimed at drawing-in 'experts', like the coy 'furniture company' reference which everyone is supposed to think is 'Paramount' of course.
Con man. Some people out there will be so desperate to believe it's true he'll probably succeed in conning someone, I bet there are back-channel messages flying around as we speak designed to part someone from their money.
