Country Blues > The Back Porch

Cocaine

(1/1)

Sixstring:

One of my favorites.

Steve W:
Nice.  I used to play this one, years (decades) back, although I never figured out all the words- let alone the exact chord structure.  Impressed with what you did there. Now I'm old and a bit arthritic, I won't be trying again, sadly.

I heard it on Yazoo's 'Mr Charlie's Blues' from Dick Justice - I think - is that also your source, Sixstring?  Or did Dick get from elsewhere?

Sixstring:
Thanks for the comment, Steve W.  My influences were the original composer, Luke Jordan, but also Dick Justice's version and that of The Village Fugs.  I picked the words from whichever version made the most sense to me.

Mike Billo:
Good job!

Sixstring:
Thanks.  My hands are starting to hurt nowadays; so I figure I'll not be better in the future than now.  Better get it down for the record, even if not a perfect take.
