I spent my summer in lockdown recording a set of jug band songs by matching the original arrangements as accurately as possible. I got especially drawn into some of the guitar interplay between Will Shade and Charlie Burse. I was also forced to raise my nose whistle game for a Whistler's Jug Band song.
Anyway, I just posted these in a new website with a multi-track audio player so people can explore the arrangements themselves:
Very cool.... in fact amazing. Love how you can explore the different tracks. The pandemic bears fruit! I'll go back and explore further. Thanks for sharing your work.
This is one of the coolest things I've seen in quite awhile. My wife and I have been playing jug band type stuff since January and this is a great resource! Thanks man....
The site is beautifully done, Arlo. Congratulations on your musical taste, design and recording skills and instrumental versatility, as well as your imagination! All best, Johnm
Thanks everyone for the kind words! This motivated me to make a couple additions to the site: links to some tabs and notation I wrote up while recording (with varying levels of legibility and completeness), and a comments function to discuss the songs. I'm also planning to add another batch of songs by the end of the year.
