Thanks for posting that link, Stuart.  It's weird, I can't get there from the www.guitarvideos.com home page.  I guess they are in transition to a new website design.
All best,
Johnm

Hi John:

It took a little exploring on my part as well. From the GV Homepage:

http://www.guitarvideos.com/

I then went to "Guitar Workshop Instructional DVDs"

http://www.guitarvideos.com/products/guitar-workshop-instructional-dvds?Page=1&Items=100

It lists the DVDs in alphabetical order--even with "The" as the first word/letter.

"Artists" are listed according to the first letter in one's first name--in rows of three:

Yup, it is, John D.  That's that comic sweat, beloved by cartoonists for decades.  And, of course, listening makes you sweat.
All best,
Johnm

A little late to the party here, but these things take time....
I've been working with the 'Improving your Ear' lesson, and it's great for rethinking how songs fit together in different keys after so long just playing and getting a feeling for where the notes are. Especially in Vestapol and Spanish tunings. Therein lies my question - could anyone give me a lead on the song in Spanish that John plays with the end credits, "Try Me One More Time"? It's really sweet, reminds me a little of Clifford Gibson or Charley Jordan, but I'd like to know who recorded it, see if I can find it on a cd somewhere.

Thanks -

Gordon

Ok, found the song - searching the Juke led me to it. Marshall Owens, on the Yazoo Alabama Blues collection. Very crackly, but it's good!

Hi joe paul - I think that Yazoo CD is out of print, though you may find copies around. If you do find it, it's a good one. Try Me One More Time appeared in its best shape on the CD that comes with the Blues Images Calendar Vol. 4, and it was still whupped. It's also on Document's Alabama: Black Secular and Religious Music which has the other Marshall Owens song, Texas Blues, as well as Edward Thompson's recorded output (plus the truly weird Moses Mason).

Another source for Marshall Owen's "Try Me One More Time" and "Texas Blues" is JSP's "The Paramount Masters"

Here's a link to the Yazoo page at Stefan's site (Yazoo L-1006):
