I've finished reading Philip Ratcliffe's "Mississippi John Hurt His Life, His Times, His Blues" and I have to post to say it is FANTASTIC! Any John Hurt fan will treasure this book! It's jammed with interesting info and it is put together so methodically that you know you can trust the details. Little bits of info that I loved... John sent for his two handed axe when in Washington and gave it pride of place (...not a guitar, a real axe!)...he liked to hunt for quail with his dogs and they were impressively well trained...there is a ton more!

It is all pulled together so well. It's a 3D experience!
