O' Brother style recordings
« on: September 24, 2014, 09:46:34 PM »
Just watched O'Bro where art thou again and I am wondering about the studio.  Where there little road side recording studios like that?  If so were there many of them and do any of the recordings remain?

hi hardtime,
It's supposed to be a radio station in the movie....and, yes, lots of early master recordings were made at such stations.
In this case the Coen bros. are accurate.

It seems to be directly referencing the real "Pappy" O'Daniel and his association with early Western Swing groups like the Light Crust Doughboys.
