OK folks, 2019 is just 7 days away. Anyone want to take January?
-
Hi Rivers,
I've been planning on taking January.
All best,
Johnm

That's great, problem solved.

Hi all,
Now that we have the January of 2019 Song of the Month posted (on the second try), do we have any volunteers to select the Song of the Month for the rest of 2019? If you haven't done it before, all that is required is to select a song that hasn't already been a Song of the Month and do an initial post that offers a few versions of the song and as much or as little background information on the song's origins as you care to present. If we could get the next few months scheduled, then I don't have to ask again for a while. Thanks to any volunteers.
All best,
Johnm

Happy to do February.

Hi all,
We had responsibilities for selecting the Song of the Month scheduled through May, and nothing scheduled beyond. Would anyone, preferably someone who has not already provided a Song of the Month thus far this year, care to volunteer to take one of the remaining months this year? June--December are all open. The format simply requires that the initial poster for a month select the Song, post a few versions, do more or less research as it suits or as time allows, and then let the Weenie community respond. Any volunteers? Thanks.
All best,
Johnm

I'll do June

Thanks, David!

Hi all,
We have no volunteers currently scheduled to select the Song of the Month for July--December this year. Any takers? The initial post may be, but certainly is not required or expected to be learned, (it may be brief) and should post only enough versions of the song to get the ball rolling, leaving other versions for other people to find and post. It would be nice if we could get several of the remaining months in 2019 lined up, so that I don't have to keep posting these pleas for volunteers. Thanks to the hearty volunteers! I will take July to get us a little wiggle room.
All best,
Johnm

I'll take August, John, if they are no other takers.
Cheers, Ned
-
Thanks, Ned! Nice to have the next two months covered.
-
I'll take September if that's OK
-
Thanks, Rivers, you're on!
All best,
Johnm

I was thinking about doing the Truckin' My Blues Way ragtime progression, if it hasn't been done yet, for the next open month (October?)
-
Thanks, Eric, October is yours!
All best,
Johnm

Sorry I'm a bit late with my September offering. We're kinda busy here getting everything set for the fall and winter. I should be able to post within the next week though. In the meantime if anyone wants to jump in and post one for September, have at it!
-
Thanks for the heads up, Rivers. There's no hurry, whenever you're ready to go is fine.
-
Who's doing November? I have a bit of time, some ideas, and can pinch hit if useful.
-
It doesn't appear anyone has previously taken it, Rivers, so unless someone else offers to take it today or tomorrow, why don't you take it? Thanks!
All best,
Johnm
-
Absolutely.
-
I"d say go ahead with doing the Song of the Month, Rivers. No-one else has asked for it. Thanks for taking that on.
All best,
Johnm

It would take me a while to put something worthwhile together and I need some time off so I'm going to suggest we take our first collective month break from SOTM
Anyone want to take December?
-
I think I may have one for December...

Hi all,
I don't believe that anyone has volunteered to do the Song of the Month for December. If you want it, it's yours.
All best,
Johnm
