Thanks John. I hear Furnish, too, now. Wish i could make sense of that "Swing him old boss yard" line though. That's a puzzler.

I hear:

Because I got a swing HERE IN MY old boss yard, daddy, IT can't be beat

Thanks, uncle bud, that is dead on the money!  And thanks, Gumbo, for reminding me about this song, because I had completely forgotten about it.
All best,
Johnm

Does anyone know the exact recording date for "You Don't Love Me" or the release date of "Country Negro Jam Session"?

I am trying to determine if the recording of "You Don't Love Me" follows the Willie Cobb recording or preceded it.

Hi Brennan,
Welcome to Weenie Campbell!  The recording dates for the specific tracks on "Country Negro Jam Session" are not listed on the CD, but "You Don't Love Me" is among a batch of cuts that are described as having been made by Dr. Harry Oster in 1959, 1960 or 1962, so it could not have been recorded before 1959 or after 1962.
All best,
Johnm

John, see the listing I posted at Weenie entitled Harry Oster Recordings on 11 February 2014, 14:07:36

This lists ALL the Oster material in exact chronological order from Scotlandville, La, 21 Feb 1960 to Baton Rouge, La, 28 Apr 1963.

Hope you can locate it.

Thanks very much for the reminder of that document you posted, Bunker Hill, which can be found at:  http://weeniecampbell.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=10044.msg85092#msg85092 .  It shows that "You Don't Love Me" was recorded on October 27, 1959.  It is wonderful to have so much information presented in so compact a form.  Thanks for posting it in the first place and bringing it to everyone's attention again!
All best,
Johnm

If anybody prefers I have the entire document in PDF form and is a better layout/format.

Those who may be interested send me a PM together with an email address to which I can attached the document (20 pages) including a very selected Harry Oster BIBLIOGRAPHY .
