She’s Gone - Mark Spoelstra - earlier version?
« on: November 21, 2022, 03:47:42 PM »
Does anyone know if this was an old song? Someone on the old Mudcat forum said it was a Cannon’s Jug Stompers song, but I haven’t found it (at least not with this title). It’s not Cannonball Blues (Solid Gone) by the Carter Family:

Spoelstra’s version was on “The Blues Project” collection on Elektra, 1969.

Answered my own question after searching for the full first line.

Jim Jackson:

It was also covered by the Youngbloods.
