I remember watching this series at the time. Great to see and hear the wonderful voice of the late, great Alexis Korner again. I was introduced to some great music via his radio programmes - not just blues, but items of African and Irish music as well.

Thank you very much for this. I did a quick check on program No 1, and it played in New Zealand; now I just have to make time to watch 'em all. I've had that old Red Lightnin' double album for a thousand years; it'll be good to see the vdeo.

For what it's worth I still have the original book, published by the BBC for the princely sum of GBP 3 Pounds (18 November 1976, 2087 pages). A recision took place

In 1983 it was reprinted in London with a new "afterword"

1n 1996 Giles did some much need updating and published by DaCapo (311 pages but with no illustrative material whatsoever ....

Needless to say the majority of those cited in the film/book are no longer with us.

Giles himself has been prone to ill health but soldiers on...his word not mine.
