Field Recording Date Query
« on: September 06, 2020, 01:40:37 PM »
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew the date at which Alan Lomax first recorded Rosa Lee Hill. Was it on the same trip when he first recorded Fred McDowell and John Dudley? I'd appreciate any information very much.
All best,
Johnm

Yes, John, Lomax recorded them both (and many others) on the same trip in September, 1959. The exact recording dates vary according to different sources. Somewhere between Sept. 21 and 25, it seems like.
