Rosa Lee Hill is now officially my favorite female country blues artist. Has anyone been able to decipher the 1st verse (repeated 2x) in its entirety?

"...probably the low point of my music-listening career": Mississippi bluesmen Skip James and John Hurt trying to perform a version of "Waiting for a Train" with one playing waltz time and the other 4/4 - David Evans quoted in Nolan Porterfield's biography of Jimmie Rodgers

Minnie is still tops for me but Rosa Lee Hill is great. Sounding good, Nate. Re. the verse, I don't hear it all but I get:
Mama's in the kitchen cookin' pork and beans Said my daddy don't know [if she's runnin?? cypress?? green??] Stuff in square brackets is mere incoherent approximations of the sounds. jpeters609
I've always heard this (with an endearing mispronunciation of "submarines"):
"Mama's in the kitchen cookin' pork and beans / Daddy's on the ocean runnin' submarines." bayrum78
That makes perfect sense Jp - I love your interpretation and thank you!!

Armed with the missing lyrical info, I think I'm going to tighten this up a bit and repost.
Wow, another submarine reference, added the 'formula' tag to keep it with the others. Or save some time and type 'submarine' into the search box top right.
