My nominations for the reason for the concerned facial expressions on the part of the musicians are:
  * Competing buskers, and judging from the look of utter hatred on the part of the bass player, it was a group including a child dancer; or
  * The imminent arrival of the law.

Having looked at this again it could be an Intellitouch, but would he need it with just the one string, but I 'spose I would...
