Title: Alice Moore-"I'm Going Fishing Too"
Post by: Johnm on October 03, 2015, 08:32:06 AM
Hi all,
I just found Alice Moore singing "I'm Going Fishing Too", backed by Peetie Wheatstraw on piano and Kokomo Arnold on slide guitar in Vestapol.  Peetie and Kokomo Arnold give it a heavy rocking rhythm and Alice Moore really delivers the goods.  Boy, Suzy, this would be a great one for you to sing.  Here it is:

What make you tell your wife you're goin' fishin', when you stays out so late?
What make you tell your wife you're goin' fishin', when you stays out so late?
So now, I have one thing that I'm really going to state

I know that any fish will bite, daddy, if you have the right kind of bait
I know that any fish will bite, daddy, if you have the right kind of bait
So now when you come home without any fish, I don't b'lieve you've been to the fishin' lake

So, from now on, daddy, tell you just what I'm going to do
So, from now on, daddy, tell you just what I'm going to do
Whenever you go fishin', papa, little Alice is goin' fishin', too

You went out on two fishin' trips, daddy, and no fishes did I see
You went out on two fishin' trips, daddy, and no fishes did I see
So I believe to my soul, you've got to make a fish out of me

I believe I'll go fishin', and catch me a cypress trout
I believe I'll go fishin', and catch me a cypress trout
There's some good fishes in my lake, all they need is pullin' out

All best,
Johnm
