My Ragtime Blues
« on: June 29, 2013, 05:51:44 AM »
Hi,

I'm new on the forum and this is my first post. There are many things to learn here!

I wrote a Ragtime-Blues and I would like to submit for comments and advice to improve.
I'm not a singer at all, but when the words are written, we must sing, so I do. Sorry for my bad English accent, but I hope you understand anyway.

I have other songs on soundcloud where you not hear my voice, ouf!

Love it. I don't have any advice since that's much better than anything I could do. I like the accent too.

Cool song, nicely played - there's some really fu things going on in it. Great story and lyrics, too - Galway must have been nice.

Thanks. Creole is excellent to singing. You can listen Ren?e Lacaille ? guy from La R?union in Indian Ocean. He recorded an excellent album with Bob Brozman!

Well if you were a Rye in my neighborhood you would either be seeded or un-seeded, sold at Zabars, sliced and consumed in short order, but good luck with that. Nice Libba Cotton style picking. :)

What is a Rye in your neighborhood? A kind of food?

I am the great grandson of William Moore. Ragtime blues singer from tappahanock. Anyone know much about him?

Not nearly as much as I'd like--or as much as you probably do. Been a fan since I first heard him play on reissue LPs 40+ years ago. My knowledge is limited to what I read on liner notes or on the web, such as:

Cool. I just joined this forum while trying to find out exactly how much info was out there on the internet about him. Its interesting that people still listen and are still keeping this genre alive. The people on this forum probably knew about my grandfather before I even knew a lot of this existed. His music is even has youtube links.

Welcome to the forum, bmoore. I've added a William Moore tag at the bottom of this page. If you click on it, you will see a bunch of other threads where your great-grandfather is discussed or mentioned. He's a favorite of a lot of people into this music!
