Our names go in a hat. They are drawn out in 2s or 3s. We have to perform a couple of songs in the chosen groups the following night. Just a bit of fun, the results can range from wonderful to slightly deranged. Just down the road from our Euroweenie hotel, this happened at the weekend:
http://metro.co.uk/2014/02/15/dream-valentines-day-meal-turns-to-nightmare-after-storm-blows-out-windows-of-beachfront-restaurant-4305491/ Rosie and I saw this on the BBC Breakfast News this morning but we didn't know the location. We thought it looked a lot like the restaurant we visited with Blueshome but weren't sure! We had a great time. It is a lovely place with great food and views. These storms are really something!
Colm I am planning to be there if I can remember to phone them....This is where I embarrass Mike who, I'm sure, will be only too happy to identify others. Portsmouth Festival, Blues Weekend May 28th-30th, 1993. Photographer Bob Pearce. (click image to zoom) Agree about the perm and nice to see you've kept your figure - I look forward to playing with you (metaphorically) again.
Thanks for that Alan, it doesn't seem like 20 years ago....
The perm belongs to my wife Janet, next to her is my "big brother" Neil Slaven , then Alan "Bunker Hill" Balfour and, a rather more slimline me. Bob Pearce (who took the pic) is still, in my book at least, one of the best blues singers in the country. That was a great weekend! Adrian_P
Great to meet all of you.
All very enjoyable. Hopefully I'll catch up with some of you before the next one..... Cheers Great to have you guys there! The new faces really helped things go with a swing.
Thanks to Richard for settings things up again. A great time this year. The Brick was presented to Professor Scratchy for courage under fire, having flown down from Edinburgh despite suffering from a ruptured disc and being in agony all weekend.
