 A great talent. As a teenager, here in San Francisco, my favorite band was The Charlatans, in which,Hicks was the Drummer.
The first psychedelic Hippie band.
 
  I passed on an opportunity to play with Hicks once, because I thought the gig didn't pay enough.
Wish I had done it
