The blues is a bantering conversation on, for the most part, the subjects of sex, love, anxiety, and travel, that was little different from the idle back-and-forth talk that might have been overheard in a 1930s barrelhouse. - Michael Taft, review of Barrelhouse Words by Stephen Calt

Muddy, what was the reason for using only lights on your 0018? The bracing, bridge footing, etc?

The luthier thought it would be judicious to go with light strings.  So I put Ernie Ball Custom medium lights on it.  They run 12 to 54.  This guitar has been played so much in the 57 years of its life, tha tit only takes a little while for it to really open up and sound real good.  The neck reset makes it a dream to play.  I had to replace the tuners as they were really shot.  That was six years ago, but it is a family heirloom and well cherished at that.
