Well, Frankie B. has already made a pretty definitive cover of this Lemon Jefferson, but I thought I give it a shot anyway.... Surprisingly hard to play & fun to sing.

Ten thousand river commissions, with the mines of the world at their back, cannot tame that lawless stream, cannot curb it or define it, cannot say to it 'Go here,' or Go there, and make it obey; cannot save a shore which it has sentenced; cannot bar its path with an obstruction which it will not tear down, dance over, and laugh at - Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi

Yeah, Peter, that sounds damn nice. I agree, it's a bit tricky to play and fun to sing. I don't quite measure up to you and Frankie on this, but do have a great time playing it for my dog.

Wow, now that is nice!
Great mellow feeling there Peter, feels real good. Joe Nice work!
This is indeed a difficult song to play and sing together, but you do a great job and sound completely at ease. Cheers Pan Hi Harry-
I was a professional performer for many years. Since starting a family, I've moved back to amateur status (per great Beethovian Artur Schnabel, that is a musican's highest calling! :-)) and am finding the time and focus to go back and try to really learn some of the tunes I've admired for so long. It's great fun and quite gratifying. The ability to share things (and enjoy other's work) by way of YouTube, etc. is entirely game-changing. Feels like this is all genuinely "folk" music again (a feeling I'd quite lost while in the "business"). thanks- Peter Pages: [1] Go Up
