At the time of Armstrong's death there was word going around that his heirs were trying to get the bible back, that it had been used to pay off some debts. I won't mention names, because i cannot confirm if this was true - and I don't know if it was ever resolved. Someone would probably need to contact Howard's spouse (I've forgotten her name).
Japenese version of House of the Rising Sun by Chiaki Naomi
There is a great tradition of Japanese vocal music. iTunes has the record Japan: Traditional Vocal & Instrumental Music on the Nonesuch Explorer Series with the great Ayako Handa, one of the great singers period! I challenge you not to be deeply moved by her performence here. Talk about soul!

My loathings are simple: stupidity, oppression, crime, cruelty, soft music. Vladimir Nabokov (1899 - 1977)
Added Japan: Traditional Vocal & Instrumental Music that you recommended Mr. O'Muck after listening to Handa on YouTube to my already long laundry list of CDs that I want to purchase at some point in time.
Work at home, but have been busy trying to meet a heavy deadline. Listened to your music from your MySpace page to help things speed along & it worked.

Thanks Sam, I'm a Michael Hurley & Holy Modal Rounders (& their general schtick) fan from way back, that's really, really good deep piano playing IMO
PS my avatar lusts after your avatar but is too shy and generally shagged-out from carting a giant packet of biscuits around in the pouring rain to invite her out.
