I have just returned from a week in Rome where one of the items in the hotel foyer was this amazing gramaphone.

I was unable to easily get inside it to see the works, but it stood about 4 feet tall from the floor - that is BIG 

Just imagine firing that up to hear a CB 78 or two, the sheer volume and presence would put all our electronic hi-fi stuff in the shade.
