Joe, nobody will bite you if you sit in on a porch jam. You don't have to play a solo.  It can be really fun to just sit in and "ride the wave" and support the rhythm.

Hi Suzy,

Intellectually I agree with you, but I'm just not confident enough to jump in.  Also, my playing so far is really exclusively learning specific songs, and I'm not in the mode of thinking about playing chord progressions in a particular key, so I need to work on that aspect from a skill perspective.

But first I need to get unstuck on singing while playing.
