You know, I want to write a book about my life... I don't want to tell you too much until I've got a chance to have it printed. Apart from my music, my main interests are fishing and making bicycle rides - Tampa Red's excuse to Jacques Demetre and Marcel Chauvard for not wanting to talk to them in any great detail, October 1959

news of some unusual gigs in Glasgow
« on: December 01, 2006, 10:24:05 AM »
There's a monthly e-publication that comes out to subscribers in Scotland. It's called "Scots Blues News" and is a labour of love for a guy by the name of Chris Simmonds who hails from Aberdeen. Buried in the latest issue's gig listings for the month of January are the following events at the Glasgow Holiday Inn City West:
January 19: Ernie Hawkins
January 26: Spencer Bohren and Scott Ainslie
February 2: Harry Manx
It's unusual to see so many North American acoustic artists appearing within a reasonably short timescale in Scotland. I know that Scott Ainslie has been to Scotland before - but I'm not aware of previous appearances here by any of the others. Could be wrong.
Finally, if anyone's interest in the live music goings-on in Scotland, I've attached the aforementioned publication for perusal in Weeniedom.
