Hi all,

I came across some live footage of Cecil Barfield on YouTube. This was posted on facebook by fellow forumer Roig. Unfortunately, not much information on these were given. Nevertheless, it's a treat to see and hear CB perform.

Cheers

Frank Fotusky shared this video on facebook, of John Jackson being interviewed. At around 5:45 you can hear him play Fairfax Rag, and at around 8:15 he plays Railroad Bill.

Hi all,
Here is Hobart Smith playing "Fly Around My Blue-Eyed Girl" on the piano.  He played piano like he did everything else--STRONG.

All best,

John,
Thanks for sharing the Hobart Smith song, I wasn't aware he'd been recorded playing piano. It's rare to hear an old time song played solely on piano. Or at least rare in my listening experiences. I'd love to hear a whole album of this.

Here is another recording of Hobart Smith on the piano. It is on an old Folkways compilation LP but I think was originally captured on tape by Alan Lomax; http://picosong.com/GBga

Thanks Lignite, I'm a big fan of 'Cindy' so it's great to hear it done on the piano.
