Hersal Thomas was (one of) the finest guys I ever knew... We came up together, in Chicago... He taught me everything I know... He was the master of all pianists in those days... King of the boogie woogie... These rocks the way he would play 'em... Really sad he didn't live... Today he would be king... He knew everything, this boy from Texas... O.K Hersal this is for you, wherever you are - Dan Burley, Hersal's Rocks

"Prater's Blues" w/Devin on Mando!
« on: January 28, 2012, 11:13:02 AM »
Howdy folks!  Haven't posted in a while so I guess it's about time for shameless self-promotion....   ;)  My buddy Devin (Nobocaster) of the Gallus Brothers passed through town recently and we got some time to pick together a bit.  Great fun.  The last tune we played together was "Prater's Blues" by Prater and Hayes.  I've never actually heard the original, so I'm sure I sound absolutely nothing like Hayes, but maybe some o' y'all might dig this anyway.  :)   http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/artist_songs/1704115

Thanks, folks!  I think I've had more fun playing with Devin than anyone else I've played with.  Of course... I don't really play with other people very often.  Gotta work on that...

Nice, very. Can I deduce from the new avatar you got the El Trovador you mentioned you were craving in an earlier thread?

Thanks again, fellas!  @Rivers...  No Trovadors for me, I'm sorry to say.  Just my trusty '36 Trojan I've had for a few years now.
