Please say "hey" to everyone for me. I really had fun last year and enjoyed meeting all the folks.
Tell Natterjack that we have had very large flocks of my namesake, the Cedar Waxwing, 'til late into the Spring, here in Oakland. I hope his newts (or was it salamanders?) are surviving.
All for now. John C.

Many thanks to Richard for organising another sucessful gathering of the clan. Again next year?
Thanks to Graham for safely transporting my guitars, to the Professor for his lesson on Bo Carter, and to everyone for their great company.
Commiserations to Norfolk Slim who had to drop out at the last minute with the Norfolk turkey flu or whatever.
Moment of the weekend - Natterjack performing in stocking feet having left his boots to dry out after soaking then in a rock pool whilst studying crabs!
No doubt further reports, photos and sound bites will follow.
Well, boys and girls thanks very much for coming over and I hope you all had fun
The consensus seemed to be smaller numbers or not you all want to seem to do it again next year so if the hotel will do it again then, I think we might have to.
I have to say having the communal meal and saying it felt a little like a Saga outing and then finding the dining room being taken over by the enormous 80th birthday party of which, as (our grandchild with wet shoes) NatterJack rightly said. at least fifteeen of 'em were eligible for the cake - that made some of us feel younger
I'll sort out some of the diy recordings and post a few snippets over the next week.
NJ are you doing the pics at some stage, did you get an crab pics as well?
Some photos, none of sealife I'm afraid Richard, although I can supply you with a full list of the crustaceans of Cobo if you like (I think I ate a few of them over the weekend )
I have plenty more photos at higher resolution, PM me if anyone wants them.
Damn, he didn't use my best side and I'm in every pic
I seem to recall that somebody was taking pics of NJ as well... now who was that..... and would it show him sans footware after paddling in the rockpools
I am (moderately) famous in my home town for my Hawaiian shirts. They mostly come from charity shops and tend to be brand new. I have a theory that people are bought them as presents and don't dare wear them, so I reap the benefits. After many years, I have now reached the stage that I don't buy them if they are tame. They have to be really outrageous/hideous/etc. before I'll consider handing over my 3 quid.
I only wear them in the summer when it's warm enough, as I'm a tough northener who "has gone soft" since moving south many years ago. Maybe one day I'll make it to Guernsey and you can have the pleasure of seeing some of them.
I thought this was a country blues forum...

A certain gentleman from McScotland who shall be nameless has intimated that instead of playing with my diy guitar I should post a sound clip or two from the great event....... which I have to say sounds fair enough as it's been a good week!
Now what I propose is I post the odd clip as a sample which will save space here and if you want more then pm me and I'll send the whole file. All the recordings require the banter and stuff to be trimmed off which I'll try and finish tonight\tomorrow ready for emailing.
Meantime here is the first of the clips featuring that aforsaid gentleman from McScotland and yours truely proving that a valuable period National can also double as washboard if you don't loose the rhythm as yer fingerpicks start to fall off.... carefull listeners will discerne a very, very naughty word as the metalpick finally falls off...... who said we didn't have fun and look what the rest of you werte missing
I'll try and post another clip or two later on tonight.
