Apropos my last post here is a pic I just took which shows (somewhere) the world famous Cobo Bay Hotel in the eye of that storm that Canada sent over to us today... it washed my bucket and spade clean away
But on a more serious note I have to admit I am getting a little worried as to the downturn (Lack?) of numbers in signing up with only a month to go, particularly as regards keeping the hotel happy.
I know, it's not good and of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating or to put that into English, when all the promises of attendance turn into bookings..... and how the hell can you guaranttttee that at the outset?
I appreciate the support and realise that this is never going to be a high turnout event so that with even, say 10-12 participants it would work happily... so, sadly at this rate I can't honestly see it continuing after this year and it looks as though a rethink of the program may be called for.
My real problem is the hotel as they were hanging onto ten rooms for me and the function room for 2 nights, knowing they had turned down a wedding party for us.....
Any brainwaves or suggestions (polite) do let me know.
I will book up soon, when I get a moment. I've had a few private life issues which have needed resolving recently and my mind has been elsewhere. I had a good time last year so am definitely up for coming over... as long as it definitely is 11 - 12 April and not 18 - 19!
Persistence obviously pays off very good, I'll buy you drink!
Now if could only get anther couple of Weenies signed up I might stop the Prozac.......... there must be somebody out there in the wilds of frozen England who needs an escape and a dose of live Weenieisam... be brave and sign up!
Now boys and girls as you know numbers are down on last year so I'm really asking what you want. I have put out some fliers to try to get along any locals interested in the music, but on past performance of Guerns (as they are known locally!) I am not hoilding my breath!
I have not cobbled up my infamous quiz yet - do you still want one??? Also.... shall we stick-ish to the proposed timetable or shall we play it by ear (pun there) and decide at the time???
Do note (pun again) I'm not intending to be particularly negative about this, just I suppose, more practical as whatever happens I'm quite sure we will have fun
